Facilitation Skills for Educators

Drawing from Applied Theatre principles, our workshops focus on developing facilitation skills. Facilitation enables shared decision-making, generating dialogue, reflection, and community cohesion.

Community Forums: An Evolution of Forum Theatre

Rooted in the Brazilian social movements of the 1950s and 1960s, Community Forums are based on Paolo Freire’s model of participatory education. Learn the philosophy that learning starts with awareness and analysis, involving re-enacting/reflection to promote change.

Workshop Components:

A. Games and Participatory Activities:

  • Build trust, spontaneity, and creativity.
  • Foster collaboration, effective communication, and problem-solving.
  • Develop facilitation skills for inciting change.

B. Community Forum Methodology:

  • Based on personal narratives and experiences.
